ABOUT DEEYA MISTRY
Passionate third year student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County currently majoring in the Biological Sciences with double minors in Chemistry and Chinese language. Upon completion of her degree, she intends to pursue an MD-PhD to achieve her dream of conducting clinical trials. Current research experience includes a sustained project in the LeGates Lab as an HHMI Scholar. She focuses on evaluating the sex differences in synaptic protein expression in response to chronic stress. Additionally, she spent last summer at Harvard Medical School in Dr. Chenghua Gu’s lab researching the differences in blood brain barrier permeability during the circadian rhythm cycle. Outside of research, she is passionate about helping the homeless population as she spends her time giving back to those in Baltimore.
