Windows, Ubuntu, LatexSupervisors: Prof. Santanu Chaudhury, Dr. Hiranmay GhoshThe objective of our research work is to derive the context of sensed physical phenomena and further assess situations that evolve over time in changing contexts, offering a personalized experience to users. As the content and its corresponding context adds value to the raw sensor data so understanding and interpreting the context in relation to sensor information plays an essential role in sensor collection. The thesis discusses application that utilizes sensor data at feature level and domain resources at knowledge level to generate personalized services at an instance of time and extend to enable services aimed at time-series modelling such as Smart City Management, in order to assist intelligent decisionmaking. The major contributions are- Developed an application which aims at automatically suggesting a decent paired apparel to the users so as to effectively compute inherent subjectivity in fashion- Developed an ontology-driven context aware service framework which fuses data from heterogeneous sensors to illustrate the proof of concept with Smart Traffic- Developed a context aware water management system to ascertain water supply requirements in smart cities based on user water-consumption, water quality and river water level.
