Project research scientist in MS Ramaiah university of applied sciences, while working on the use of antimicrobial peptide GF-17 and its combination with calcium hydroxide for endodontic disinfection. We test the efficacy of GF-17 both by itself and in combination with the conventionally used ICM, calcium hydroxide, against monospecies and multispecies biofilms of endodontic pathogens grown in vitro and ex vivo. We also evaluate its cytotoxic effects on human fibroblasts. These are compared against calcium hydroxide and modified Triple Antibiotic Paste. This study will help determine if GF-17 is a safe and effective ICM candidate, and motivate further exploration for its clinical use.

My expertise in SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and protein purification techniques (Affinity, Ion Exchange Chromatography) using the AKTA Start system allows for high-quality protein isolation and characterization. My role extends to troubleshooting experiments, optimizing protocols, and ensuring high-quality data generation, fostering a productive learning environment for scientific research and innovation. As a dedicated researcher with over three years of experience in Molecular Biotechnology, I bring hands-on expertise in molecular surveillance, diagnostics development, and antimicrobial studies. Currently, I am a Project Research Scientist at MS Ramaiah University, investigating the antimicrobial peptide GF-17 for endodontic disinfection. My previous work at TIGS involved developing qRT-PCR-based diagnostic kits for infectious diseases and addressing antimicrobial resistance in priority pathogens.
