Client: An esteemed Insurance based in Mid-West US Domain: Insurance Location: Pekin, IL, US Technologies: Snowflake, AWS, Apache Airflow, data build tool (dbt), Qlik Replicate, Hortonworks (HDP), Hive, Spark, Mainframe, Python, SQL Server Team Size: 5 to 30 • Roles & Responsibilities – Solution Architect of Data Lake, Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Analytics on Big Data technologies and Migration of Data Platform to Cloud (AWS, Snowflake) – Delivery Manager of VM data team and onsite-offshore coordination • Projects Building a data lake to store data from various sources like Legacy Mainframe, Text, and SQL Servers. Maintaining a history of the changes for analytics. Loading data from legacy mainframe systems into the data lake (earlier into Hadoop, which migrated into AWS, Snowflake). – Design and development of Enterprise Data Warehouse, as ‘Single Source of Data’. – AWS Cloud Migration: Presented various solutions for migration of data platform from Hadoop to AWS. Lift- & -Shift selected for migration. Guided team in developing the solution. Development and testing were completed, but the client put the project on hold and planned to migrate to Snowflake instead of AWS. – Snowflake Migration: Migration to Snowflake was not a simple lift-and-shift but a new solution and development of Data Platform on Snowflake using Qlik Replicate, Apache Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake. All stat/compliance reports and downstream data feeds are migrated and sent through Snowflake – Decommission of Hadoop cluster after migration of data platform to Cloud. – Data Analytics: Help data scientists and analytics team in various use cases. – Maintenance Support: Support for Hadoop Admin, SQL Server DBA, and ETL job
