As a Drilling Fluids Consultant with MI-SWACO Australia for major clients SHELL & Woodside, The campaign involved five wells drilled from a common offshore template, with riserless drilling performed on four sections of each well using the Riserless Mud Recovery (RMR) system with Gel Pac Water-Based Mud. The deeper hole sections were drilled using MI-SWACO’s NOVATEC Synthetic-Based Mud, reaching total depths between 3,955 and 4,960 meters in 168 meters of water depth. Prior to suspension, a thorough wellbore clean-up was executed, and the wells were suspended using clean base oil as the final fluid. I was also involved in the decommissioning of wells for Woodside in the Otway Basin, working in water depths of approximately 100 meters.
