ABOUT DEEP VORA
Deep Vora is an architect (India), urbanist, and researcher interested in emergent climate change and social equity questions. Both professionally and academically, Deep is presently exploring methodologies for contributing to climate change at the nexus of urban planning, design, policy, and advocacy. Since his undergraduate studies at the highest-ranked institutes in India, he has been involved in research and pedagogical conversations involving minority living and informalities in Mumbai, India. His academic and professional work reflects his strong inclination toward mitigating emergent social and environmental issues, and he continues to pursue these through his time and engagement at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Deep is an urban design candidate at the University of British Columbia (School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture) in Vancouver, Canada. Presently, Deep works as a Research and Teaching Assistant at UBC and is pursuing coursework that focuses on the climate crisis, entrepreneurial solutions, urban economics, and policy. Along with his professional engagements, Deep has also worked for more than 3 years as an Architect at Architect Hafeez Contractor in Mumbai, India. Deep also volunteers his time towards teaching programs with local NGOs in rural India and runs a global mentorship program for architecture and urbanism students.
