AB 140 passed in June, making Nevada the 26th Juneteenth state holiday in country \' Companion Bill AB 409 did not make it of back room but will be back in 2025. This legislation is for Juneteenth Education, Culture and Economics to strengthen the knowledge of history for descendants of formerly enslaved Africans and those that benefited from the 13th Amendment. Continued support will be needed. June 2023 Rebirth of Miss Juneteenth Nevada Scholarship Program. Taking delegate to New Orleans in October for National Miss Juneteenth competition. Developing Juneteenth Youth Performance Program with MarQue Munday, 2023/2024 Ms. Classic Universe as Director of Miss Juneteenth activities. Currently working on the passage of AB140 to create Nevada Juneteenth State Holiday. We need your support. Assembly only meets every other year Instrumental in passage of Juneteenth National Independence Day June 17, 2021. The first federal holiday passed since M.L. King Day. With Assemblyman Harvey Munford, instrumental in 2011 passage of June 19th as Nevada\'s Juneteenth Independence Day.
