About Declan Huggins
I’m a Computer Science major at the University of Notre Dame and a cadet in Air Force ROTC Detachment 225, pursuing a commission as a Cyber Warfare Operations Officer. I have a strong technical foundation in programming, system administration, and cybersecurity, with experience across Linux, cloud platforms, and AI tools.Outside of academics, I actively pursue technical and creative projects, including server management, automation, and AI experimentation, and I regularly share my photography and personal work at dhugs.com. I’ve worked as an IT and A/V technician and served as the Fall 2025 Senior GMC Advisor in AFROTC, where I lead communications between cadet leadership and underclassmen to support training, feedback, and development. I also contribute as a photographer for The Observer, Notre Dame’s student-run newspaper.My path has been shaped by a lifelong curiosity about technology and a strong sense of service. Raised by a software engineer and a pro bono lawyer, I learned early on the value of both technical skill and mission-driven work. That foundation drives my interest in national defense, responsible tech development, and leading with purpose. I aim to use my skills to make a positive impact on the world; protecting systems, people, and values in an increasingly digital world.I’m always open to connecting, whether you’re in tech, national security, or just want to share ideas.
