ABOUT DEBRA M. HUGHES

Debra earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics with a minor in Accounting from Spelman College and a Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A) from Southern New Hampshire University, Graduate School of Business. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over 25 years experience in financial statement audits, internal auditing (include Sarbanes-Oxley compliance audits), general ledger accounting, tax and budgeting. Debra has her own practice, HUGHES BUSINESS SOLUTIONS, INC,CPAs, An Accountancy Corporation, and provides accounting, assurance, tax planning and preparation and consulting services to small business owners; specializing in non-profit organizations. Debra is a proud life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, the largest African American Sorority in the United States. She is currently a member of Century City Alumnae and served as the Treasurer with the Los Angeles South Bay Alumnae Chapter. In addition, she is a life member of the National Black MBA Association, where she served as the Treasurer of the Los Angeles Chapter. Lastly, Debra is a member of other accounting and civic organizations. Debra was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended undergraduate school in Atlanta, GA and graduate school in New England. Debra relocated to Southern California in 1996. Debra loves music, sports, playing cards (bid whist) and travel.
