I have worked with large multi-entity healthcare systems, colleges and universities, public charities, private foundations, Native American tribal governments and federal and state governmental entities. I have assisted numerous organizations undergoing IRS exams, and have worked with those organizations in the appeals and settlement process. I have assisted my clients in developing integrated tax systems including diagnostic reviews of existing tax policies and the development of new policies and procedures to better address exposure area and I have assisted them in developing organizational structures that maximize the benefits of tax status. I have served as Chair of the AICPA Exempt Organizations Technical Resource Panel teaming with the members of that panel in dialogues with the IRS regarding the redesigned Form 990 and numerous other matters impacting the nonprofit setor.
