ABOUT DEBBIE FRANCIS

I consider myself a real estate advisor not a sales person except when assisting in the sale of property. I utilize my problem solving and negotiating skills honed during my time in industry to ensure that the entire process occurs with minimal stress on you.the client. My goal is to listen carefully to your needs/ideas and help you achieve your goals. In the process, many of my clients become personal friends. Presently, I own a small real estate business and am one of the instructors for OnTrack Financial\'s buyer class. As I have experienced 27 major moves and have owned 8 homes in 5 states, I do understand the stress of moving to a new home or area and not knowing anyone. Hence I find myself working with a lot of folks who are relocating. I also work with a lot of first-time home buyers as affordable housing is very important to me. Specialties: Residential real estate in Asheville and surrounding areas in adjacent counties. Providing superb customer service for my real estate clients through staying informed on real estate issues and utilizing the latest technology. Keeping on top of changes in the industry is a priority for me as you will note by the number of designations I hold: Certified Residential Specialist Certified International Property Specialist Accredited Buyers Representative Graduate Realtor Institute Short Sale Foreclosure Resource BACKGROUND I worked in four different industries before returning to school for a PhD in order to pursue a career in academia. My industry experience was very diverse, including computer systems analyst, financial analyst, industrial engineer on nuclear submarines, and finance manager specializing in government contracting issues (DAR/FAR, overhead rates, etc). In academia I taught strategic management and international business to seniors and MBAs. I endeavored to bridge the gap between industry and academia. COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS Being involved in my community is important to me. Some activities are listed in the Experience section. These organizations include Rotary International, Women for Women, Asheville Downtown Association, LOTSAR - Land of the Sky Association of Realtors, NC Arboretum, WNC Nature Center, Leadership Asheville. HONORS Academic honors include: Malone Fellow in Arabic Islamic Studies, treasurer of the international management division of the Academy of Management, participant in U.S. Air Force\'s Air University World Council, Golden Apple Award from Jacksonville State University\'s student government.
