About Deborah Grant
I am a senior HR leader who is passionate about the success that happens at the intersection of inclusion and employee engagement. Purpose-driven employees who feel valued and impactful at work are happier in life, and I am driven as a leader to make this happen! My work ranges from building and launching new programs, to evolving culture change, to advising leaders and resolving difficult people-related challenges. Leading Through ChangeMy career has had a theme of advising and managing through change - with a strong emphasis on supporting the people affected by the change while meeting the business objective. How an organization treats people during difficult times speaks volumes and can reduce risk. Workplace CultureThe intersection of employee engagement, Diversity & Inclusion, and the multi-generational workforce sparks lively conversation for me and I\'m excited about the future of this trio working together. I am deeply committed to providing a culture where employees can bring their whole self to work and inclusion is part of the cultural fabric. I believe everyone in an organization plays an important role in building and sustaining a purpose-driven, diverse and inclusive culture where employees are fully engaged, excited and highly productive. HR PracticeI work to resolve problems at the lowest level and provide leadership coaching and development. I have significantly reduced costs related to separation agreements, litigation and unemployment insurance through employee commitment, accountability and leadership coaching. I have built innovative programs to support business objectives through HR partnership. SustainabilityGrowing up in Hawai\'i, my family was an early adopter of recycling, solar power and keeping plastic out of the ocean. I have been proud to bring my personal commitment to sustainability to help migrate to paperless HR functions, provide recycling, and reduce personal printers. I am a strong believer in ESG investing and actively support certified B-corps. Learning & Growing in LifeI love exploring new places, learning about different cultures, and I\'m a huge museum and library geek! During the pandemic, I am studying and dancing hula through zoom, and learning ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (the language of Hawai\'i). Running with my dog is a wonderful stress reliever and a perfect way to take advantage of the natural beauty of Nashville.Mahalo nui loa (thank you very much) for learning a little about me! Please drop me a note to connect.
