ABOUT DEBORAH SCHWARTZKOPF
With more than 30 years of experience in pediatric health care, I’ve dedicated my career to advancing nursing leadership, operational excellence, and compassionate care for children and families. As Interim Chief Administrative Officer for the Children’s Mercy with Mercy Springfield Communities partnership, I’m honored to help shape a new pediatric system of care - one built on collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to kids.My journey has taken me from the NICU and Fetal Health Center to leading Quality & Safety, Ambulatory Operations, and Regional Practices. I’ve had the privilege of growing teams, launching new programs, and building pediatric operations that center on access, safety, quality outcomes, and family experience. I believe in leading with empathy, listening deeply, and creating space for others to thrive. At the heart of my work is a simple goal: to help every child receive the exceptional care they deserve. I’m proud to be part of a mission that puts children first and to lead alongside others who bring both expertise and passion to pediatric health care.
