Developing strategies for internal and external communications that support the Alberta Human Rights Commission’s goals and priorities.• Project and issues management, including managing the development and implementation of a strategic communications framework for the Commission.• Supporting policy development, stakeholder engagement, and education initiatives, and promoting the Commission’s programs and services.• Researching, writing, and editing various content for different audiences and channels that reflect the organization’s voice. This includes writing, editing, and contributing content to public statements, speaking notes, responses to public inquiries, educational publications, briefings, annual report, newsletters, and website.• Managing the Commission’s media relations, risk/crisis communications, and social media (including official Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook accounts).• Coordinating internal communications to staff.• Researching and analyzing human rights issues, providing advice, recommendations, and policy options to senior leadership, and providing input into Alberta’s progress on international human rights conventions and treaties (including United Nations conventions).• Drafting policy papers on current human rights issues and policy responses within the organization, and reviewing legislation/policy from other areas of the Government of Alberta.
