ABOUT DEBORAH J MCDONALD

Deborah is a polymath: a CPA, CA (Ernst & Young), an award-winning filmmaker and part of the Emerging Tech creative new wave. After Ernst & Young, she enjoyed a series of roles with ever increasing leadership and Board presentation responsibilities in areas of scalable systems, forecasting and financial reporting with startup, Pre IPO and established companies. Deborah was Vice President of Finance for Hitachi\'s HISC.As a filmmaker, Deborah\'s been profiled on Fox Prime Time Special, Executive Produced and hosted her own cable access show, produced hip hop music videos and worked on American Idol, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Godzilla and was part of the NFL Films Super Bowl wires crew.Deborah is a featured contributor in the best selling book Fearless: Girls with Dreams Women with Vision and is currently many drafts deep in her debut novel.As a Video Producer at Google Developer Studios, she produced the first ever #AskAndroid livestream at the Android Dev Summit and wrote the original script for the 9 segments. Her efforts were recognized with a Make My Day Bonus award. As a strategic partner to the Google marketing team, Deborah also produced the 2nd top performing video of 2019 on the Android YouTube channel that garnered over 810k views, a 49% retention rate and a 52% call to action conversion rate. As a screenwriter Deborah has been recognized as a Diverse Voices Semi Finalist and a Scriptapalooza Quarter Finalist, ranking in the top 10% of over 3,400 submissions. Her sports documentary 50 year old FRESHMAN has won numerous film festival awards and she is a CJOH TV Screenwriting Grant recipient. While still in film school, Deborah was recognized as the NATPE International Gold medal winner for a commercial campaign that she wrote, directed and produced.Deborah is a fierce advocate for the advancement of women. She\'s a founding US Activator of Coralus (SheEO), an alumna of the LA accelerator Tech Women Canada, a Silicon Valley Leadership Committee member of How Women Lead in the Boardroom and a graduate of the its Boards Training series. Deborah has also served on Canada\'s Creative Industry Advisory Council, Los Angeles.
