Collaborate with publisher, managing editor to develop/execute design projects for flagship monthly ABA Journal magazine read by half of the nation’s 1 million plus attorneys, website, advertorial sections, Media Kit and other communication vehicles. Produce layout/design for feature and departmental pages of ABA Journal, coordinate hiring of nationally recognized photographers/illustrators.Executed complete redesign of magazine to update visual impact and implement structure to enable greater flexibility to integrate copy with visual components, collaborating with editors of 15 departments to incorporate unique design for each department’s monthly section, introducing new typeface families to create better balance with visual elements. Members of ABA board of editors – comprising attorneys from throughout U.S. – used redesign as guide for legal publications in their sections. Design annual “best of law blogs” issue, one of magazine’s biggest-selling brands, featuring 100 winners in different law categories. Issue is key component of ABA’s branding strategy, being promoted throughout year.
