ABOUT DEBOLINA CHAKRABORTY

I recently graduated with a degree in Psychology from Ahmedabad University, with a dual minor in History and Economics. My interests lie primarily in clinical & cognitive research, behavioural economics, and exploring post-colonial and social history. I also enjoy writing, both academic and creative. I am currently working on a research project in the field of attentional regulation among autistic and schizotypy populations with respect to understanding their estimation of volatility through pupilometry data and gauging their ability to identify statistical regularities in visual search fields. I am also interested in research on emotion and currently working on another project that is aimed at exploring of different forms of visual cueing on attenuating Emotion-Induced Blindness (EIB). I am looking for opportunities in the field of research in cognitive psychology. I am particularly interested in exploring topics such as cognitive development, sense of agency (SoA), decision-making, and the intersection between cognition and emotion. I am intrigued by the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological disorders. In the future, I intend to pursue my further studies in this field, wherein I shall be committed to understanding mental health issues and finding ways to improve the well-being of individuals who are facing such challenges. I practice my skills in active listening, empathy, and attempt my best to create a supportive environment through my volunteer experiences at local mental health organizations and rehabilitation centres. Looking forward to connecting with professionals, researchers, and fellow students who share similar interests!
