ABOUT DEBBIE JACKSON

As a computer science graduate, I learned very early in my career that it wasn\'t the technology that got me pumped, but how people used technology to make their work and personal lives easier, more creative and more fun! Over the years working at Nortel, I was able to take on roles that helped me grow my confidence, abilities and leadership skills enabling me to take on new challenges and create new experiences. After Nortel, a very rewarding experience was to create my own corporation focused on Service Management consulting, helping companies drive organizational change and transformation. Longing to be back in a strong technology company, I joined the Microsoft family to continue to strengthen my skills in account management, service management and customer relations. Always keen to learn new skills and take on new opportunities I joined Adobe to build a Global Service Desk for their Digital Experience solutions. During my time at Adobe I was given the opportunity to not only build the Service Desk, but also take on a leadership role as Americas Digital Experience Customer Support and Enablement leader, leadership coach and mentor, as well as the Adobe & Women Ottawa Site leader. My latest adventure brings me to Ciena as the Director of Learning and Development. I am extremely excited and proud to be part of such a great telecommunications company and I look forward to what lies ahead! In my free time I love spending time with family and friends, hiking with my dog, cooking, golfing, horseback riding, doing yoga and learning anything I can that nourishes my mind, body and spirit. I am curious and bring passion to everything I do. My specialties include: training and enablement, coaching and mentoring, leadership, customer experiences, organizational change management, facilitation, service management transformation, and relationship management.
