Implemented Natural Language Processing pipeline on Electronic Health Records using Apache Ctakes on big data platform(Scala,Hadoop).As a Senior Data Engineer, completed and overseen multiple projects pertaining to Knowledge Extraction in patient notes from medical text.Presented white papers at Industry conference on Knowledge Extraction from medical notes (free-text)Previously worked in the storage domain with EMC2 on Atmos, a cloud computing product and Centera, an in-house data storage solution building tools and developing scripts for the product and providing engineering solutions to customers (L3 Development) using PERL and JAVA using XML and JSON. Graduated from George Mason University in Computer Science with a focus on Data Mining and Computer Vision. I have worked as a Research Assistant in a project funded by NSF which involved building models for Ultrasound Images using Markov Models, Maximally Stable Extremal Region and Bag-of-Words representation of Ultrasound Video Sequences. My research focus and course focus has been applying Pattern Recognition techniques in Ultrasound Image Sequences. I have developed Map-Reduce applications in HADOOP for finding out top influencer in Twitter and text classification, built Recommender System.
