About Debbie Langford
Retired from Markel Specialty Insurance Company September 2020. Markel acquired THOMCO (Thompson Insurance Enterprises, LLC) on January 1, 2012. Prior to the Markel acquisition I was Vice President of Product Development at THOMCO for over 14 years. Throughout my career I held several positions at THOMCO including; Vice President of Underwriting and Underwriting Manager, my other duties included Regulatory Compliance; I was also the firm’s Corporate Secretary. I started my insurance career in 1983 at Crum and Forster Insurance in Orlando, Florida. From 1987 to 1996 I worked at Crum and Forster Insurance in Atlanta, GA and from 1996 to 1997 I worked as the Southeast Regional Manager for Pacific Rim Insurance Company. I received my CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation in 1993 and the HCSS (Health Care Safety Specialist) Designation in In 2013, I received my CPL (Certified Programs Leader) Designation. I have been a licensed insurance agent in the state of Georgia since 1996. At Markel Specialty, my many duties include; new program/product analysis and implementation, including enhancing current products for all lines of commercial coverage. I also develop underwriting guidelines, pricing strategy, competitor review and analysis of rates and forms, including program loss analysis; I develop marketing materials and customer lists. I conduct semi-annual loss analysis for various programs for Kennesaw GA office. I am Markel’s in-house instructor of INS courses and other related insurance subjects for the Markel Kennesaw, GA Location.
