About Debashis Bhattacharya
Healthcare does not suffer from a lack of innovation. It suffers from a lack of clear, responsible, and trustworthy communication.I work at the intersection of clinical science, patient safety, leadership, and healthcare communication, helping organisations translate complexity into clarity—especially in high-stakes environments. With 30+ years of experience across clinical practice, healthcare systems, global pharma leadership, and public health, I support healthcare and life sciences organisations to:Communicate responsibly with patients, clinicians, regulators, and the publicBuild trust in sensitive areas such as patient safety, AI in healthcare, rare diseases, and mental healthAlign leadership messaging with values, governance, and long-term impactMy approach is grounded in patient safety, ethics, regulatory rigor, and simplicity without oversimplification.I am a surgeon by training, with experience across India and the UK’s NHS, and senior leadership roles at Novo Nordisk, Abbott, Eli Lilly, and as Global Director of Human Risk Management at Reckitt. I have also trained clinicians with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and completed executive programmes at Harvard Business School and the University of Oxford. After 23 years in the UK, I returned to India to contribute to healthcare transformation and currently support initiatives across rehabilitation, neurodiversity, and community-led health programmes. If you are building or repositioning a healthcare organisation and want communication that inspires confidence rather than noise, I’m always open to meaningful conversations.
