ABOUT DEBAPRIYA PAL
Nanophotonics researcher specializing in metasurface engineering and light–matter interaction in layered photonic systems. During my Ph.D. at AMOLF (Netherlands), I developed metasurface-enhanced phosphor-converted micro-LED architectures for high-brightness AR/VR display applications, in collaboration with Lumileds, focusing on directional emission, light extraction, and manufacturable device integration.My expertise includes metasurface design, LDOS engineering, inverse design, and electromagnetic modeling using both full-wave methods (FEM, RCWA) and semi-analytical Green’s function frameworks. I (co-)developed PyRAMIDS, a Python-based toolkit for simulating dipolar emission and interactions in stratified optical media. I bring extensive experimental experience in nanofabrication and optical characterization of nanophotonic systems.My work has led to peer-reviewed publications and multiple U.S. patent applications, supporting translation of nanophotonic concepts into industry-relevant technologies.Previously trained at IISER Kolkata (India), with research experience at FORTH-IESL (Greece), NUS (Singapore), and AMOLF (The Netherlands). Interested in translating nanophotonics concepts into scalable photonic technologies.
