About Debabrata Mandal

As a research assistant at UNC-CH, I work on practical problems in computer science that require a research focus and a strong background in machine learning. I am currently pursuing my PhD in CS, with an expected completion date of May 2028. My field of study is image processing, which is one of the domains that interest me the most, along with computer graphics, computer vision, and machine learning. I have two years of industry experience as an AI engineer at KLA, where I worked on ML inference optimization for inspection and defect detection tools. I also have a BTech degree in CS from IIT Bombay, where I participated in various technical clubs and projects, such as GSoC\'20 with Boost C++, the IIT Bombay Mars Rover Team, and the LiFT\'21 scholarship program. I am a quick learner and always ready to explore new fields and technologies. I enjoy competitive programming, open source contribution, and playing chess in my free time.
