ABOUT DEB HOESTEREY
I have been in education for over 40 years. My career includes 27 years in the classroom, serving as both a regular education teacher and a special education teacher. I also served as a reading interventionist at the elementary level. I went on to spend 5 years as an instructional coach and several years as an administrator. I started my own company, serving as an Educational Consultant, coordinating the Alameda Literacy Project. Additional consulting work includes being a Coach and Trainer for Zaner-Bloser. This involves classroom coaching and training for a core integrated literacy program called Superkids as well as presenting at regional and national conferences. In 2013 I received my Trainer of Trainers certification for LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling), and I was fortunate to be able to travel all over the U.S. to train teachers in the science of reading for 10+ years. I currently also have done work for the Colorado Department of Education as a trainer for FOLI (Fundamentals of Literacy Instruction). I have an exciting project that I worked on, which is a webinar professional learning series on David Kilpatrick\'s Equipped for Reading Success program for the Division of Exceptional Student Services within the Colorado Department of Education. I developed a module on Morphology for the University of Minnesota. My current job is a district administrative position; Associate of Curriculum for Adams 14 School district and I oversee RtI. Challenging, but rewarding work!
