Trained two engineers; oversee a remote freelance designer. • Convert preliminary design hand sketches to complete products through CAD modeling, mechanical design, and assembly/instruction/shop drawings. Make prototypes; conduct dry-fits. • Work with domestic and international vendors for sheet metal, spinnings, CNC parts, glass, and castings. Responsible for vendor QC; research and suggest alternate vendors when necessary. • Make on-the-fly drawing adjustments with Fabricators due to vendor errors or required design revisions, sometimes jumping on machines to modify parts when they’re backed up. • Follow design aspects of UL/ETL-certified fixtures to maintain certification on custom fixtures
