About Dean Unger

I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin with aspirations of serving our country. Now, I’ve proudly spent more than two decades, not only fulfilling that dream, but working side-by-side with the best Special Operations forces the world has to offer. I started off as the lowest ranking man on the team, eager for adventure. I got that adventure through 30+ years of working side-by-side with the best Special Operations forces on the planet. I had the opportunity and honor of finishing up my military career after attaining the highest enlisted rank and leading diverse teams of joint and multi-national warriors through the most complex, no-fail missions. I left the military as a highly experienced, combat proven leader with a track record of high-pressure problem solving, team building, and program management. My skills have seamlessly transferred as I am now a Senior Program Manager with a first-rate company. Finally, one of my passions is to give back, helping veterans struggling with invisible wounds like PTSD and traumatic brain injuries. I’ve been volunteering with the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program for several years as a mentor and ambassador, providing informative talks to groups to provide education of resources available to struggling military members and to help inspire others to reach out for help. I continue to serve our veteran population as a board member for Operation Vet Now, a non-profit organization focused on bringing resources to vets in need.
