ABOUT DEAN SPURDEN

I am a customer focussed and delivery orientated team player with 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. My current role is the Global Director for Neuroscience HEOR for IPSEN, UK. I am responsible for the overall quality of scientific and technical excellence of Health Economic and Outcomes Research deliverables for both early and In-Line Neuroscience assets. In Pfizer I worked in the Clinical Research (phases II-IV), Evidence Based Medicine and Outcomes Research arenas. I have contributed to both pre- and post-marketing medical research functions across a range of therapeutic areas including Neuroscience, advanced/metastatic Breast Cancer, Inflammation and Rare Diseases. In my most recent positions, I have delivered credible real-world evidence of clinical outcomes, economic and quality of life impacts. I have supported regulatory submissions and optimised product commercialisation. I worked closely with cross functional colleagues in Commercial, Medical, Regulatory, and Market Access at the global, regional, and country level in order to inform decision making, support formulary acceptance, and to obtain access for the appropriate use of medicines by patients. My experience is primarily in development and execution of systematic literature reviews, UK Health Technology Appraisals, conducting Non-Interventional Outcomes Research based studies and delivering compelling evidence for a product’s Value Proposition. I hold a BSc degree in Applied Physiology, an MSc in Evidence Based Healthcare and a PhD in Neurochemical Pathology.
