Hi, I\'m Deano- an autistic Health Psychology master\'s researcher who got tired of waiting for someone else to change how the world understands autism. My work has helped autistic people access boxing communities, supported parents through personalised workshops, and shed light on the experiences of disabled students in Higher Education. What connects all of it is a simple conviction: autistic people don\'t need fixing. They need to be genuinely understood. As I near the end of my master\'s, I\'m focused on one thing: helping professionals move beyond diagnostic checklists to a place where they can truly feel where their autistic clients are coming from. Not more awareness training. Not another framework. A fundamental shift in how you see. The research backs this up. So does every conversation I\'ve had with autistic people who\'ve spent their lives being described rather than understood.
