ABOUT DEAN HEASMAN

I am a Staff Product Designer at Meta, where I focus on the design of automated and AI-driven experiences within our global monetization platforms. My work is centered on the intersection of human intent and machine intelligence - building systems that translate complex data into intuitive, high-performance outcomes.At Meta: I focus on the design strategy for high-stakes automation and AI initiatives, simplifying and optimizing the most complex advertiser workflows. I am also one of the key designers moving our AI productivity efforts forward within the Monetization org, helping define how our teams can leverage these tools to accelerate our work while maintaining a high bar for design craft.Craft & Foundations: Design craft is at the core of everything I build. Whether I’m designing for Booking.com, RBS, or Meta, I believe that high-scale systems only succeed when they are rooted in meticulous execution and user empathy. I’m a builder at heart; I founded EduAssess, an assessment platform that automated personalized feedback for teachers, reaching over daily users at its peak.The Blueprint of a Designer Podcast: Outside of my core work, I host The Blueprint of a Designer podcast. This serves as an outlet for my research into the shift from static interfaces to generative and agentic systems. Through conversations with design leaders and practitioners, I explore how our craft is moving from building tools that users operate to agents that users direct - and how we preserve the \"human touch\" in an automated world.I’m motivated by the challenge of making \"impossible\" complexity feel effortless - a mission I\'m now carrying into the next frontier of AI-native design.
