About Dean Ericksen
Technology can make life easier, as well as harder, and it\'s that friction that has always interested me. I joined Microsoft in 1989, which started my fascination with the way technology is impacting the world. Since that time I\'ve consulted with hundreds of organizations across a breadth of IT challenges. My core expertise is finding - and sometimes knitting-together - practical technology that allows non-technical people to accomplish their work. My current passion is building my consultancy, Ericksen Initiatives, to meet the needs of local foundations, nonprofits, and community businesses, lowering their IT costs and making technology work for them rather than against them.
