ABOUT DEANDRA ATMOJO
Hi there! I am a passionate nature enthusiast with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Conservation from the University of British Columbia. Currently, I serve as a Program Manager at the Environmental Youth Alliance (EYA), where I oversee and lead impactful programs that bridge the gap between young individuals, specifically youth facing barriers, and the natural world. I love thinking outside the box to come up with solutions as much as I love bringing them to life. I am also a systems thinker and always seek to improve the systems that we are in to make sure that they are equitable and accessible for all. Here are some highlights and responsibilities in my current role: • Management: Supervise and mentor a team of 3 program coordinators, co-lead hiring processes, and facilitate team-wide training for coordinators.• Program Administration: Managing logistics, maintaining positive relationships with Indigenous partners, and overseeing materials and equipment purchases.• Program Development & Delivery: Recruit over 90 youths each season for different programs, design lesson plans and deliver multi-week programs, and support program coordinators to ensure the smooth delivery of all Nature Stewards Programs. I’ve also had some great highlights throughout my professional journey:• Program Leadership: Planned and delivered over 15 multi-week land-based youth programs, applying a trauma-informed practice and decolonial lens to environmental education.• Diverse Industry Expertise: Drawing from a rich background spanning non-profit, academia, government, and NGO sectors, I infuse a wealth of knowledge into everything I do. This diverse experience has helped my approach to program development and leadership.• Research and Coordination: Coordinating and managing logistics for research initiatives that ensure successful outcomes and participant satisfaction.Outside the professional realm, I love being outdoors, whether that’s hiking, taking a walk, camping, birdwatching, or just sitting in a park! I am also a big coffee drinker, knitter, crocheter, and cross-stitcher. If any of the above resonates with you, please feel free to connect!
