Dean is a multi-faceted educator. He is a- New York State Certified School Psychologist - New York City Licensed Special Education Teacher [Pre-K to College]- Certified Tae Kwon Do Instructor and 7th Degree Black Belt in the World Martial Arts Association - Instructor of College Board course in AP Macroeconomics - Executive Functioning Academic Mentor - SAT/ACT and College Essay Tutor For over twenty-five years, Dean has taught 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade literature in both mainstream and special education settings, English Composition, Senior Thesis, Literary Appreciation & Analysis, Modern Literary Criticism, SAT Preparation, Ancient Global History, Medieval Global History and Modern World History as well as Western Civilization. He also covers Contemporary Issues in Global History and Current Events. At Bay Ridge Prep, Dean is also a Learning Specialist and School Psychologist. He performs individual and group counseling sessions, individual psycho-educational evaluations and acts as a child and family advocate in CSE Meetings as well as in impartial hearings related to school funding for individual families. Dean also provides Executive Functioning coaching and Academic Mentoring to a variety of students.
