As a Technical Fellow for Kaney Dean is helping create new product concepts and assisting new business pursuits.While at Honeywell Dean was the Flight Controls Senior Chief Engineer of Honeywell Inc. It was a privilege to be part of an organization supplying commercial Fly by Wire products to leading Air Transport, Regional Jet and military customers along with Automatic Flight Control and Automatic Landing Systems to a variety of Intercontinental Business Jets, Regional Airliners and personal business aircraft.In this role, Dean provided technical leadership of Flight Control product development, new product concepts, strategic plans, pursuit strategies, review and approval of program plans and cost estimates. Responsibilities include ensuring Flight Control electronics meet stringent FAA and EASA hardware and software certification standards.Prior to that, he was Chief Engineer for an Automatic Flight Control System, responsible for system architecture design, safety philosophy and certification. This Autoflight system is certified on Gulfstream G450/G550/G650, Dassault Cessna Sovereign, Hawker Horizon, Agusta/Leonardo AW-139 and Embraer ERJ-170/175/190/195. Dean represented Honeywell throughout the certification process with FAA, EASA and ANAC authorities for AFCS and Autoland certifications.Previous to that he was Team Lead for the Gulfstream G-IV and G-V Head Up Display product development. Responsible for technical program development including Hardware, Software, Systems, Flight Testing, Bench/Simulation, Safety Analysis and Certification.Prior to that, as Display System Group Leader, he developed the product concept and led the development team for an Integrated Display Guidance Computer. This computer is the heart of an avionics system selected by Cessna for the CitationJet, Bravo, Ultra, and the Excel; by Learjet for the Lear 45; by Embraer for the EMB-145, 140, 135, Legacy 600/650; and by Fokker for the F-50.
