In my previous role at Choice, I was responsible for underwriting ground-up construction hotel developments ranging from $20-150M. We used a variety of investment structures including providing joint venture equity, senior construction and mezz debt, and facilitated the company\'s investment into our self-development assets. Using this experience, I went out to develop and open my own restaurant concept. I operated it for a little over two years before closing it due to the inherent struggles that come with opening a restaurant. Now, I\'m going back to Choice to continue doing what I love, which is developing hospitality projects. My previous experience at Choice equipped me with a great understanding of the company, it\'s goals, and it\'s franchisees. Opening the restaurant provided me with a great understanding of what it\'s like to develop something yourself, the pros and cons of the different ways to structure a capital stack, the value of being part of a great franchise vs. being independent, and a unique perspective into the relationship between site selection and operational strategies. I\'m extremely excited to use this experience to help the company and it\'s franchisees grow!
