ABOUT DEAN NIENHUIS

I grew up on a farm in Michigan, and I love working with processes, machines, and people — especially people — to realize their maximum potential.Leading people is my passion, and I’ve spent more than three decades as a leader in both civilian and military contexts. I’ve learned that while you can manage data, processes, and machines, attempting to manage people is not the most effective approach.For organizations to succeed, leaders must lead people (as opposed to managing them) and understand that leadership is not about giving orders. It’s about helping people discover potential in themselves that they may not have even known existed. It’s about helping them recognize that they can do more than they ever realized and putting them in position to do it. True leadership is about fostering new leaders, and seeing my team members grow into larger roles is a reward like no other.My journey has been one of continuous learning and helping others, often finding myself in the right place at the right time to provide solutions. As the president of SafanDarley North America, I’m proud to say we offer the best, safest, and most user-friendly press brakes on the market. Our commitment to excellence is matched only by our dedication to being the easiest company to work with.It’s an exciting time for SafanDarley, and I’m looking forward to growing with our distributors and customers in the coming years.
