With over two decades of experience in software architecture and development, I am passionate about creating and maintaining IT infrastructures that support biodiversity research and education. As the IT Infrastructure Lead at the Centre for Biodiversity Genomics (CBG), I oversee the design, implementation, and security of the IT systems and networks that enable the collection, analysis, and dissemination of genomic data from diverse organisms. I also contribute to the development and enhancement of LifeScanner, a citizen science platform that allows users to identify and share biodiversity observations using DNA barcoding. I have extensive skills and knowledge in JavaScript frameworks, model-view-controller (MVC), and server side development, as well as experience in working with large and complex data sets and APIs. I enjoy collaborating with researchers, educators, and other stakeholders to deliver IT solutions that are user-friendly, scalable, and reliable. My goal is to empower the CBG teams to advance the understanding and conservation of biodiversity through cutting-edge technology.
