About Deaisha Johnson
I’m an Analyst on the Financial Operations team at Avante Capital Partners, where I support lower middle market (LMM) direct lending fundraising, data analysis, and business intelligence processes. I first joined Avante as an intern, conducting market research and early stage due diligence on LMM small businesses across multiple domestic industries.Before returning to Avante, I worked at BlackRock in the Sustainable and Transition Solutions group. There, I managed client engagement initiatives for large-cap U.S. institutional investors, published firmwide sustainability newsletters, and conducted policy and investment research focused on the evolving ESG landscape. I also represented BlackRock on internal panels related to neurodiversity and inclusion, reflecting my commitment to building equitable workplaces. In 2023, I was honored to be named a BlackRock Founder’s Scholar, receiving a merit scholarship and the opportunity to meet with the firm’s executive leadership team.I earned my B.A. in Public Policy and African American Studies from Princeton University. My senior thesis, “DeCarb Camden: A Reparations Investor’s Collective Guide to Environmental Liberation and Restorative Justice,” explored how financial theory can intersect with grassroots perspectives to support restorative finance practices.As a first-generation college graduate, I’m deeply committed to mentorship and social impact. I currently serve as a Mentor Coach for America Needs You, supporting first-generation college students as they navigate their professional paths.Outside of work, I enjoy writing for my personal blog, where I explore identity, culture, and what it means to navigate life as a Black woman.
