Her daughter Brooke succumbed to complications of Lupus in 2017 at the age of 18, and the event is held every year in her honor on her birthday, January 18th. Denise now takes on Brooke’s purpose of helping children in her own way, saying “Her illness over the 6 yearsdefined her purpose of helping children by becoming a the best pediatric nurse. Now, thanks to the TGH Foundation partnering with me, I’ll be working with children in our community who have Lupus. This event is to raise awareness and funds for more research and support.
