About Diane Dragaud
The science doesn\'t speak for itself—someone needs to tell the story. And that\'s where I come in. I help researchers transform complex clinical data into strategic messaging that drives visibility and engagement. With 20+ years of leadership experience in oncology, I help make research accessible and relevant to real-world audiences. Whether guiding multi-site clinical trials, shaping publication dissemination strategies, applying NIH clear health communications standards, or aligning cross-sector stakeholders, I blend scientific fluency with effective campaign execution. As Director of Communications at ECOG-ACRIN, I’ve built the organization’s communications function from the ground up—leading national initiatives in collaboration with the NIH, NCI, FDA, ASCO, AACR, and major advocacy partners. I’ve connected countless scientific initiatives to patients, physicians, policymakers, and the public. Through D2 Professional Services, I also offer boutique consulting to select independent research organizations, biopharma companies, and contract research organizations seeking a trusted partner to strengthen clinical trial messaging and amplify results. If your science is ready to make an impact, let’s make sure your story is too. d••••••••@gmail.com | 20••••••43Strategic Communications | Health Communications | Media Relations | Stakeholder Engagement | Public Information Officer Engagement | NIH Clear Communication Guidance | Campaign Management | Content Creation | Editing | Online Content | SEO | Social Media | Fractional CCO
Experience
Director of Communications
Ecog-Acrin Cancer Research Group
Nov 2011 — Present · Philadelphia, PA, US
I founded the communications program for ECOG-ACRIN, and continue to oversee strategic communications initiatives for this large national cooperative research network with over 1,400 member institutions and research professionals. I lead clinical trial communications strategy, scientific messaging and stakeholder alignment, media relations and speaker support at major medical meetings, translation of complex scientific content into plain language for lay audiences, and alignment of communications, marketing, and clinical education objectives internally to drive visibility and support for research initiatives. My role involves collaborating with international media outlets, professional societies, and scientific leaders in government, advocacy, and industry to promote progress in cancer research. My contributions have a direct impact on the organization’s mission to reduce the burden of cancer and improve the quality of life and survival of adult patients with cancer.
