About Derek Dictson

Derek Dictson serves as the Chief Development Officer at the Houston Methodist Hospital Foundation. In this role, Derek leads the Foundation\'s network hospital, major giving, planned giving, and corporate & foundation fundraising teams.With an extensive background in nonprofit management and philanthropic fundraising, Derek has led two community nonprofits and two international NGO’s, and served in advancement leadership roles at the Texas A&M Foundation, Auburn University, the New Mexico State University Foundation, and Colorado State University.Derek holds a master’s degree in public administration from Texas A&M and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business and economics from New Mexico State University. He is an ICF-certified advancement coach and volunteers as an international election observer for the US State Department and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.Derek and his wife, Nikki, have two children. Derek enjoys traveling (41 countries and counting), helping with the family ranch, outdoor activities, and cooking.
