About Derek Descioli
Derek DeScioli is the COO of ZAP Surgical, a robotics company focused on delivering non-invasive radiosurgery for the treatment of brain tumors and other neurological conditions. Prior to ZAP, Derek was the CEO of IntraOp Medical where he led the company out of bankruptcy into a leading innovator in the field of radiation oncology with significant revenue growth, an expanded product portfolio, and world-renowned clinical research partners.With a focus on commercializing innovative and disruptive technologies, Mr. DeScioli has held leadership positions at 3M, Soliant Energy, Alpha Technologies (Enersys) and Astrodyne TDI in Shenzhen, China. A seasoned executive, Derek has broad experience in business development, sales, strategic planning, commercial development, quality management, and supply chain strategy. Derek earned his Master’s Degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and holds a BS in Engineering from Rutgers University.
