About Daniel B. Dadon

At Elektrofi, Daniel leads scientific strategy for the development of the Elektrofi high-concentration biologics delivery platform, which is capable of concentrating biologics up to and beyond 500 mg/mL. Daniel is a co-inventor of the technology and has worked with an incredibly talented interdisciplinary team to achieve proof-of-concept and platform validation. The strength of the growing data and team has led to successful partnering efforts with many of the world\'s most prominent biopharma companies. These partnerships position Elektrofi to have a robust pipeline of proteins destined for commercialization with abbreviated trial times. Today, Daniel\'s efforts at Elektrofi focus on translating the formulation technology, leading Elektrofi’s R&D organization, pushing business development growth, and expanding Elektrofi\'s growing team. Daniel joined Elektrofi from Evelo Biosciences where he was the Scientific Strategy Fellow working on the proteomics of monoclonal microbial therapeutics. As an NSF Fellow at the Whitehead Institute of MIT in the laboratory of Professor Richard A. Young, Daniel’s work on the 3D organization of the human genome and the proteomic makeup of chromatin has helped to reveal fundamental principles of gene control in health and disease. Also at MIT, in the laboratory of Professor Rudolf Jaenisch, Daniel contributed to foundational studies in the genome engineering (CRISPR/TALENs) field and engineered artificial transcription factor proteins for single gene expression, chromatin state, and looping control. Before MIT, in Professor Andrew McCammon\'s HHMI-backed computational biophysics laboratory at UC San Diego, Daniel worked on the rational design of inhibitors to viral proteins for the H1N1 swine flu pandemic. At Biogen Idec, Daniel worked in the Process Biochemistry group developing novel chromatographic purification strategies for monoclonal antibodies. Prior to Biogen Idec, Daniel began his research in a gene therapy laboratory focused on spinal cord injury repair. Daniel holds a B.S. in Molecular Biology from the University of California, San Diego, and a Ph.D. in Biology from MIT.
