Responsible for the project management, budget and technical leadership of a new 7-million-pound test facility at a remote location, from Intelligent Energy’s existing headquarters. This test facility will enable the testing of IE’s future high-power fuel cells up to a level of 1.3MW. This is a multifaceted project involving many aspects of construction facility development, including: • Facility concept development, landowner negotiation, planning application development, site design, consulting & site investigations, HAZID, HAZOP.• Capturing engineering demands and translating them into a facility specification. Then, develop the test solution by working closely with suppliers\' design engineers to produce a fully matured solution. These laboratories have been built remotely (in Finland) for quick installation in the UK, with site construction conducted in parallel.• Supplier management and negotiation, including various major plant items, including an Electrolyser. • Operational model development and resource planning, including options for future autonomous testing.• Enabled extensive (xM) cost savings by developing novel ideas and solutions.In 2024 this role has expanded to include company wide responsibility for:• Maintenance and development of existing and newly acquired test rigs that have not yet achieved commissioning. • Leading a team collectively responsible for the mechanical and software (LabView) development of all IE’s test rigs. • Became a hydrogen acquisition expert for Intelligent Energy concerning soucing, supply resilience, gas quality. • Responsible for laboratory best working practices such as Safety, Audit Compliance and 5S.
