   As the Vetco Total Care/Hospital Medical Leader, my role is to lead the VTC full-service animal hospital veterinary team in providing excellent veterinary care to our full-service hospital animal patients while offering phenomenal customer care to their owners. The HML represents the mission and commitments to all clients, veterinarians, and hospital and store partners. The patient’s needs always come first; every team member understands that they have the power to do what it takes to create an exceptional customer and patient experience; and exceptional teamwork and commitment to shared goals benefits the entire organization. The essential function categories include: Leadership/Management and Clinical/Surgical duties. This position impacts the organization by contributing to the growth of a productive medical practice while focusing on a high-quality standard of animal healthcare. The HML is critical to a cohesive, well-trained and motivated Team. Together with the Hospital Office Manager, we have created the ideal environment that ensures employee retention, patient well-being and customer satisfaction. This position has supervisory responsibility for all hospital veterinarians, including full-time, part-time and relief veterinarians. In all activities related to the care of individual patients, the Hospital Medical Leader has discretion related to decisions regarding patient care. Problem solving is at the heart of veterinary medicine and excellent problem-solving skills which allows for the expeditious diagnosis of patient problems.
