David is a senior IT leader specializing in high volume eCommerce fulfillment during his 20+ years at third-party logistics providers. He is currently the Director of IT Solutions and Security for Barrett Distribution Centers where he leads the teams supporting business focused applications, cyber security, and introducing emerging new technologies to the enterprise. Previously, David spent 9 years developing the IT team that was responsible for all operationally critical applications across the network of Barrett warehouses; including multi-carrier parcel software, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and related systems. Through this experience David also gained extensive knowledge with retailer compliance & fulfillment strategies. Barrett’s continued growth has enabled David to focus on his passion for mentoring his team and facilitating their growth into newly created positions at Barrett.Prior to Barrett he spent 10 years leading the IT organization at SPExpress, a startup that grew into a regional third-party logistics provider primarily focused on direct-to-consumer (eCommerce) fulfillment. He gained many unique experiences in the various aspects of the business and operations during the startup phase which provided a great foundation for him transitioning to working with enterprise solutions. David credits this experience to why he focuses on having great user experience when delivering IT solutions.
