ABOUT DOMINIK BAAKEN
As an Agricultural Economist with a strong background in data-driven projects, I am passionate about using analytics to drive sustainable innovation. Currently working as a Consultant at AFRY Management Consulting, I am part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to identifying and implementing strategies to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable society. Recognising decarbonisation, circularity, electrification and digitalisation as key drivers, we are leveraging our global footprint to connect technologies and drive progress for our clients. My expertise covers strategy, supply chain and market analysis to deliver comprehensive solutions for business success and sustainability. On the academic front, my journey in Agricultural Economics has been both varied and enriching. After studying at four different universities, I proudly completed my academic career with a PhD from the University of Hohenheim. During my studies, I specialised in developing advanced forecasting tools for the dynamic German milk market. My approach leverages the power of big datasets and applies various Machine Learning models, including regularised regression, tree-based methods and neural networks. Proficient in coding ML models using R and occasionally Python, I translate data-driven insights into actionable strategies. Other passions: Basketball (in local club), running (10k-Marathon), playing Cello, skiing.
