About Deepak Bhagat

Deepak is the Associate Director of Education at Founding Forward, a national, non-partisan, 501(c)(3) non-profit charity that provides civic education and resources to students, teachers, and citizens. With Founding Forward, Deepak oversees all high school programs located at Founding Forward\'s Valley Forge campus promoting themes of civic responsibility, character development, and youth leadership while tying each to the foundational principles and values found within America\'s founding documents. Deepak has 9 years of educational experience from classroom instruction to programmatic and administrative roles at Founding Forward. He has worked with students from Pre-K through high school, primarily in history and social studies. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from American University (2016) and an M.A. in Education from Villanova University (2018). Outside of the classroom and his work with Founding Forward, Deepak has worked with students as JV and Varsity Assistant Soccer Coach at Gill St. Bernard\'s School, Academic Advisor, Service Project Faculty Advisor, and Model United Nations Advisor He previously held the position of Upper School History Teacher at Gill St Bernard\'s School in New Jersey, teaching U.S. History and Comparative World Cultures and a substitute teacher at The Haverford School where he taught in the Lower, Middle and Upper School, notably Science teacher (K-3), where he developed and implemented lesson plans, engaged students in discussion and labs, and assessed student progress through unit reviews. Deepak is a current board member of the Pennsylvania Council for the Social Studies, a delegate for the National Council of the Social Studies, and a former junior board member of the Scleroderma Foundation of the Delaware Valley, an organization he is still involved with as a team leader, raising funds and awareness for a cure in memory of his late mother.

   As the Associate Director of Education at the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, my job is to work in a collaborative manner with a host of constituents, including colleagues, sponsors, chaperones, students, and program staff.I work to assist the program staff in running a successful and comprehensive program for our students, providing support and assistance where they need it. Further responsibilities include recruiting and training new staff, engaging with our students, and reaching out to our larger community to educate about FFVF
