As a co-founder and leader of the Community Equity Collaborative (CEC), I have transformed it into a recognized leader addressing educational inequities in San Mateo County. Under my leadership, CEC has driven systemic change through innovative programs, impactful advocacy, and strategic partnerships.Key initiatives include:Teacher Pipeline Project: Strengthened the early childhood education workforce, inspiring legislation like the ECE Workforce Waiver and transitioning to Upward Scholars, a Latina-led nonprofit.Child Care Relief Fund: Advocated for and managed a $5M fund supporting child care providers, benefiting children.Learning Hubs Initiative: Coordinated safe, supervised spaces for remote learning during the pandemic, supporting vulnerable students and their families.Rainbow Kids: An innovative program for parents, caregivers and educators fostering diversity and inclusion, incubated at CEC and now hosted by partners such as the Santa Clara County Office of LGBTQ+ Affairs and San Mateo County Pride Center.CEC has received accolades including the Community Partner Award from 4Cs and commendations from State Senator Josh Becker for its transformative impact.Currently, we partner with Build Up for San Mateo County, leading strategic initiatives and early childhood climate programs for a sustainable future.
