ABOUT MUHAMMAD DAWOOD TARIQ
I’m a tinkerer and tech enthusiast who loves getting the most out of technology and my money. I strongly dislike unnecessary subscriptions and pointless AI, but I do enjoy living on the bleeding edge as long as things actually work. If a system can’t be trusted to run reliably for real people (and real families), it’s not finished yet.I have close to two years of hands-on experience as a backend-focused software engineer, working mainly with Node.js, Express, Django, FASTAPI, and Flask, and building scalable backend systems using the MERN stack and Python based frameworks. I enjoy designing APIs, working with databases, and building backend logic that doesn’t fall apart under real usage.Alongside backend development, I work with AI and machine learning, particularly in chatbot and conversational AI systems. I’ve integrated ML models into production backends and recently worked on RAG-based AI systems using Ollama, combining full-stack engineering with practical AI that actually adds value instead of buzzwords.I’m currently completing my Master’s in Artificial Intelligence at Birmingham City University, where I’m also undertaking an industrial placement year at MyOsteopathy, working on real-world full-stack and AI projects in a live business environment.Outside of work, I’m a competitive gamer (Dota 2 and Call of Duty), which has taught me teamwork, strategy, and how to stay calm when everything is on fire skills that transfer surprisingly well to software engineering.I’m always learning, whether it’s software, hardware, or new ways to build better systems. I’m interested in roles where I can work on real problems, real products, and real impact not just demos.
