ABOUT DAWN ZIMMERER
I help make AI less intimidating and more useful for higher education. As an academic librarian, I create courses, workshops, and presentations that help librarians and faculty use AI with competence, curiosity, and care. My work focuses on practical application, ethical use, research support, and the strategic role libraries can play in campus AI leadership.I’m especially interested in the space between fear and fluency: the place where people need clear guidance, honest conversation, and room to experiment without getting swallowed by the hype machine. I believe higher education needs more grounded, human-centered approaches to AI, and that libraries are well-suited to lead that work.My style is practical, calm, and a little playful. I care about clarity, usefulness, and building programs that help people actually do the work, not just talk about it.
